Lynne Voyce grew up on Merseyside, the daughter of a factory worker and a cleaner.  She studied English Language and Literature at Leeds University and after a PGCE in English and drama at Bretton Hall College, later returned to Leeds to complete a Masters in Education, specialising in Educational Psychology.  She has taught in inner city schools since 1991, most recently focussing on educating more able students in the state system.  Initially writing for theatre and performance, working with theatre and community groups, Lynne started writing short fiction after her first child was born.

 

She now lives and works in Birmingham with her daughters and her dog. Lynne is a highly experienced teacher, education manager and a trained trade union workplace representative.  She is also a trustee of The West Midlands Readers Network.

Lynne's short fiction and non-fiction has been widely published and has won some prestigious awards.  She has spoken at national events about writing and performed her work across the country.  Most recently, Lynne has been focussing on long form fiction.
